Contact the site about it and don't leave the tab running for a long time.

It's a platform issue... my personal PeerTube installation has the same behaviour (but I use it primarily on mobile so I'm unaffected). The Angular frontend framework probably compounds the issue. Maybe it can be reported as a bug to the PeerTube developer, but UXP is not officially supported so it's 50/50 whether it will be addressed.
