Can't reproduce either but it's probably just a first-paint issue related to theme or theme overrides. That can sometimes happen (e.g. if there are many CSS rules to be processed on XUL windows and they involve required repaints of the window) if the widow is painted before all styling is fully processed (drawback of having startup be done as fast as possible). You may be able to work around this by tweaking nglayout.initialpaint.delay
