I tried these exact steps yesternight in my Pale Moon and nope, I just got a forced log-out this night...

I'm not sure if it matters but I have third-party cookies only accepted "from visited".

Again, I am never getting forcibly logged out.

I do not know if this matters, but the default setting is "Always"" and this is the setting I use. Since you changed the setting "From visited", try setting it back to "Always" for awhile and see if you encounter the forced logged out problem again.
