Amazon to offer Spectrum TV app for Fire TV devices
Charter Communications and Amazon have reached a new distribution agreement that involves offering Fire TV users access to the Spectrum TV app. The app will be available as a free download in the Amazon App Store for Fire TV devices starting April 15, the companies said on Tuesday. The Spectrum TV app allows subscribers to watch the same pay TV channels available in their Spectrum packages over streaming. “The Spectrum TV App is designed to fit seamlessly into how customers stream TV today,” said Elena Ritchie, the Senior Vice President of Video at Spectrum. “Making it available on Amazon Fire TV devices will give our customers even more flexibility to access their Spectrum TV service on the streaming platforms they use every day.” The addition of Fire TV allows Charter to reach Spectrum subscribers who prefer that platform over others. ...
