"textContent": "I decided to reach out on the Brave community forum as well: here\n\nAnother user pointed to This comment by anonymous479 which demonstrated how to find/modify the “daily usage ping” toggle via the configuration variable `reporting_enabled` in the `~/.config/BraveSoftware/Brave-Origin{-Nightly}/Local State`file.\n\nQuoting from my reply to that user’s post:\n\n> I just confirmed that in both of the test cases linked in my above post `reporting_enabled` is indeed set to false. Even when the toggle was not modified by the user before browser restart.\n>\n> What still confuses me here is that the UI of the “daily usage ping” still appears on first boot, but disappears after the browser is restarted for the first time regardless of user intervention. This may not _technically_ be broken, but it _does_ feel weird from a user perspective.",
