Affordable faraday bags?

Thanks for sharing this link. Your link show that a 38.8 to 43 Decibel reduction of signal 1 to 2 GHz. How is that innefective ? If that was a bad attenuation, how can microwave oven (2.4 GHZ) metal grid window be safe for use in our homes ?
