Using the Retroid Pocket Mini for general usage

My Pixel 7 finally broke and am quite strapped for cash atm. Is it advisable to use my android handheld specifically the RP mini just for WhatsApp and general browsing? How is my privacy and security if I do so? The browser is Cromite and I will be using ProtonVPN if that matters. Just going to be waiting for my next paycheck to probably buy a Pixel 10 or maybe a used 8 as I would like the GOS Motorola next year.
