Why are governments not curbing the continuous wealth accumulation by big corporations?

I know we are supposed to have free markets and communism failed against capitalism. However, these few companies like Nvidia, Google etc. have wealth beyond the GDP of some of the richest nations in the world. Are democratic countries not worried about giving so much power to these billionaire share holders?

A person being worth 1 trillion USD is not a thing to celebrate it’s a dreadful thought. The wealth like any resource is not infinite. It’s generated from someone’s hard work, health, and in some cases life itself. And if the world economy had that 1 trillion USD instead of it being tied to a person, it could actually do way way more than eradicating world hunger. People are getting laid off left and right while these upper echelon personalities are accumulating insane amounts of wealth every second. Why are govts. so worried about “protecting” our kids when they are not even sure if those kids will have food to eat because a dumbass somewhere is bathing in their nectar showers and diamond bathtubs.

I really struggle to understand this. Instead of waging a war against some poor country in the far off world. Wage a war against these companies and make them pay taxes. Why is a normal person, struggling to make ends meet, paying taxes which subsidize data centers for trillion dollar companies. It’s such a stupid time to live in.

Sometimes I wonder, would life have been better if I was born in 1969. At least I won’t be getting f***** by my own govt.
