"textContent": "I’ve been trying to find an SMS app and QUIK seems like the best option if I wanna stick with FOSS. However I’ve been thinking with all the closed source options out there with the only drawback being they usually have app tracking, could their privacy risks be mitigated by simply disabling their internet permission? The main closed source option I’ve seen talked about and have considered is Textra. The only risks I could possibly imagine are data sharing between other nonprivate apps that have internet, or the app sending out SMS secretly to transmit data. Those are both technically possible but I’m not sure how likely they are at all. I just wanted to see what other people think and use themselves and if I should still be worried at all if I revoke the internet permission.",
