If AI is making certain industries redundant because it simply can do a better, more efficient and accurate job, then that is progression. Projects which claim “no AI contributions” for example, are not doing themselves any favors. Progress is not good just because its progress, we should be careful what the social, economical and military implications are. The biggest danger I see, are robot armies that could make dictatorships far easier to establish and far harder to overthrow.
