The amount of people who simultaneously use Instagram and also care about their messages being private are probably not many, so it literally cost more to maintain for no reason Regardless though, it wouldn’t disprove my claim. Instagram discontinuing E2EE is an exception to the rule, so far, as there’s E2EE in a bunch of apps from companies who you don’t expect it from
