Astermail E2E email, anyone heard of it?

Exact same thing happened to me. Couldn’t retrieve my account. Contacted support, and they said it didn’t exist anymore, and they didn’t have an explanation as to why. They didn’t delete my account, and yet it didn’t exist anymore. They encourage me to recreate my account, which I did, and I got a few months of free premium for the hassle.
