Their sandboxed play services are secure & very user-friendly. You could configure it in a Private Space or alt profile with a dedicated Tor tunnel to maintain anonymity. For extremeophiles, you could avoid a Google account altogether by installing & maintaining this app with Aurora, it would still meet the Play Services requirement. Play Services would only run for the few moments when you open the profile to run this\n\nThis would still be a net privacy downgrade, but no moreso than everyone else using the internet.
