proton feels more and more like silicon valley’s version of “privacy for normies” now. i don’t truly believe they value “privacy” anymore. their onion site routes you to their clearnet site when registering. they require extra authentication if you use a vpn or tor when signing up. they don’t officially accept monero. I can go on and on, especially when you get into their products
proton is very much privacy with a big compromise as their primary focus is to becoming a paid replacement to google. that is who they want to become
