  "textContent": "I only recently learned that it was possible to buy Monero via Cake Wallet’s app with no ID and just a credit card, depending on your location.\n\nMy first thought after learning this was:\n\n  1. **How does Cake Wallet or DFX determine your location?**\n\n\n\nAnd my subsequent thoughts were:\n\n  2. **If you’ve never bought from them before is it your IP?**\n  3. **What if you always use a VPN and your IP frequently changes?**\n\n\n\nSuppose your VPN IP is Austrlia, and people in Australia are not required to provide ID.\nBut then you pay with a German credit card.\n\n  4. **Does Cake Wallet or DFX now determine that your location is actually Germany and not Australia?**\n\n  5. **Why do some countries require KYC and others don’t? How does DFX or Cake Wallet determine that?**\n\n\n\n\nI’m sorry, I have never bought Monero via Cake Wallet, so I am not of much help, but I am very intrigued by your situation.\n\n**Do you know if people your country or other countries are still able to buy without KYC?**",
