"textContent": "I found when looking through the reviews of registrar services, all had cases of distraught customers being permanently blocked from using their account.\n\nI was under the impression that if I “owned” a domain I could move to a new registrar whatever. It seems though this is not the case.\n\nBy coincidence since I’d already decided to retire it, I have tripped over an issue with my domain, I’ve lost access to the email address registered in the whois. You’d think this would be a pretty straight forward issue to resolve but it isnt.\n\nThe pitfalls of domain ownership aren’t mentioned when extolling the virtues in regard to aliasing. Yet they are very real, the penalties very severe and imo not worth the risk.",
