"textContent": "I don’t get why they are using twitter stats in a vacuum. Surely if their position is that their twitter numbers “aren’t working out”, it would have to be _in comparison to their other social media numbers_ , no? Yet they provide none.\n\nThe other position they hold is\n\n> The people who need us most are often the ones most embedded in the walled gardens of the mainstream platforms and subjected to their corporate surveillance.\n\n(They literally link to an article framing twitter as a walled garden lol)\n\n> We stay [on other social media] because the people on those platforms deserve access to information, too.\n\nClearly this position doesn’t single out twitter at all.. It’s kind of stupid for an organization, whose goal is to reach as many people as possible, _not_ to use one of the biggest social media platforms. It’s just blatantly contrary to their goals, and the reasons they provide dont add up at all. Either way, it’s a total nothing burger to me. In fact, I agree in their leaving twitter, and I really wish others would do the same.",
