"textContent": "The app doesn’t develop or maintain translation models, it’s just a mobile application running local instances of well-known, existing models like Mozilla or Tesseract, both of which independently document evaluation metrics you can use for benchmarking\n\nQualitatively from my experience so far, it rivals the higher-end translators from the past decade. It gets beat out in accuracy by cloud-based AI translators & their ability to translate more nuanced context. To be fair, Im not sure any local translator will be able to compete with a full AI server farm on accuracy\n\nWorth mentioning: they just added TTS, so it can now be used as a conversational tool. I havent yet had the chance to test this out",
