Think a blank background and using Signal’s text overlay feature. @WhyRhy also including an image of what the recipient sees in the notification for spoiler. Personally, I think this would be visual only. Like you indicated, I imagine the full unredacted text is in the same log files, but would be interesting to get confirmation.
