The Manifest
Encrypted P2P file sharing and chat. No servers, no accounts, no trace.
Short description
- Browser-to-browser encrypted file sharing and chat via WebRTC. Files stream directly between peers with ECDH + AES-256-GCM encryption. No servers touch your data, no accounts needed, no file size limit. Close the tab and it’s gone.
Why I think this tool should be added
It fills a gap in privacy-focused file sharing — most tools either require an account, upload to a server, or have size limits. The Manifest does none of that. Files never leave the browser, everything is end-to-end encrypted with double encryption (AES-256-GCM + WebRTC DTLS), and the infrastructure is fully self-hostable (signaling + TURN relay) for true zero-knowledge operation. It’s open source (AGPL-3.0), has no tracking or analytics, and works on mobile. It also includes encrypted group chat with reactions, replies, and image sharing — all P2P.
