If we’re talking about an older thinkpad (eg pre 2018), probably not besides easier disk encryption. Older thinkpad do not have TPM, fingerprint reader, secure boot, etc and are running on older hardware that’s no longer officially supported. If it’s a modern one then it should have those sorts of features. Some people will say this doesn’t matter for home use. These people don’t get their advice from me. If I’m giving a general recommendation, I’d at least want to recommend something with easy to set up disk encryption. It’s true that the risk is lower if no one is going to come into your house to steal your hard drive or modify your boot files, or even if you keep the laptop with you at all times while traveling.
