"textContent": "I am running asahi remix with gnome full time now. I tried it a few months ago and switched back because i didn’t like KDE and didn’t gnow that gnome was a carbon copy of macos.\n\nReally enjoying it. It is a lot faster, no issues with battery. I don’t miss the fingerprint reader as much as i thought.\n\nUnfortunately i had to turn off advanced data protection in iCloud because there would be no way for me to get into it now that I have no apple devices running apple software. Hopefully i can get off iCloud and self-host everything soon.\n\nMy one big issue with asahi is that hardware video decoding is not supported which makes watching high bitrate video for long periods unusable.\n\nIt is also a shame to get degraded security, but considering I no longer have to run any proprietary software, combined with the increase in freedom, I would say it is worth it.",
