Enhancing the Reddit browsing experience privately and securely?

Besides using a VPN, are there any scripts or extensions for enhancing the browsing experience on Reddit privately and securely? I’m looking for desktop, Android, and iOS ideas, especially for Firefox. I don’t understand why not all comments are visible, and I’ll have to click the plus icon to see them all. I also want to sort all comments by new by default. Anyone here know how to do this and have other tips? Thanks!
