TinFoilHat:

The amount of misinformation on TikTok is actually mindblowing.

I don’t doubt there is misinformation on TikTok, but as you pointed at, minsinformation is on other platforms too, including YouTube, and there are good content creators on TikTok.

Is the misinformation objectively worse on TikTok?

I am personally not on TikTok, but I have been itching to get on it, precisely because there are few creators I like whose videos I see on Twitter and YouTube. If the same creator is active on YouTube, I’m obviously not going to feel the need to follow them on TikTok, but many are not. The problem is, it’s really hard to create a TikTok account from web and to use exclusively on web.

TinFoilHat:

IMO if the platforms have “minors friendly mode" toggled on by default, and age verification (or age declaration) of some sort would be required to “unlock" adult mode, then anyone who is minor, and anyone have no intention to consume “adult content" can choose not to age verify, simple fix.

What is “adult content” on platforms like YouTube and TikTok that already don’t allow NSFW content?
