  "textContent": "<p>CLEVELAND — The White Sox-Guardians game Friday was delayed by rain moments after Miguel Vargas hit a three-run homer to give the Sox a 3-1 lead in the fifth inning. Umpires appeared to be waiting for the riveting 10-pitch at-bat to end before calling for the grounds crew to unroll the tarp.</p><p>The Guardians took the lead in the third on Travis Bazzana's base hit, which scored Gabriel Arias. </p><p>In the fifth, Chase Meidroth and Tristan Peters singled to start the inning. Then with two outs, Vargas fell behind 0-2 against right-hander Gavin Williams, worked the count full and lined a sweeper 374 feet — against the wind — over the left-field wall. The exit velocity was 106.3 mph. </p>",
