"textContent": "<p>The man who said he owns the <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https://chicago.suntimes.com/bears\" target=\"_blank\" >Bears</a> isn’t going away quite yet.</p><p>Aaron Rodgers agreed Saturday night to return to the Steelers on a one-year deal. He’ll make up to $25 million, per ESPN, and give new head coach Mike McCarthy an established starter.</p><p>Rodgers was solid in his first year with the Steelers, throwing for 3,322 yards with 24 touchdowns and seven interceptions. He went 10-6 as the starter. The lone game he missed was at <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https://chicago.suntimes.com/bears-stadium/2026/05/15/mayor-brandon-johnson-aide-jason-lee-chicago-bears-stadium-arlington-heights-northwest-indiana-lakefront-site\" target=\"_blank\" >Soldier Field</a>, one week after breaking a bone in his left wrist.</p><p>The Packers traded Rodgers to the Jets in April 2023, ending his 18-year stint with the Bears’ rival. He suffered a season-ending injury in his first game with the team and went 5-12 in his second season. The 42-year-old signed with the Steelers a year ago.</p><p>Despite the Steelers wanting an answer before the NFL draft, Rodgers waited to decide on a return. He was spotted eating ice cream with Steelers players Friday night and is expected to practice with the team next week.</p><p>The Bears do not play the Steelers this season.</p>",
