  "textContent": "<p>A bicyclist was critically hurt when a semi hit him Friday morning on the Southwest Side, marking at least the fourth hit-and-run crash this week, two of which have been fatal.</p><p>Around 6:50 a.m., the 37-year-old bicyclist was riding north in the 6400 block of South Kedzie Avenue when he tried to turn left and was struck by a semi-truck going south on Kedzie Avenue, Chicago police said.</p><p>The cyclist suffered a head injury and he was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where he was in critical condition, police said. </p><p>The truck driver did not stop. </p><p>Friday morning's hit-and-run is at least the third such incident to happen citywide this week. </p><p>Around 11 p.m. Thursday, a man was was standing in the <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https://chicago.suntimes.com/crime/2026/05/15/man-killed-in-auburn-gresham-hit-and-run\" target=\"_blank\" >8700 block of South Ashland Avenue </a>when a beige car hit him and left the scene. He was taken to Christ where he died, police said. </p><p>On Tuesday night, a 53-year-old man was changing a tire on an SUV in the <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https://chicago.suntimes.com/crime/2026/05/13/man-killed-in-west-lawn-hit-and-run\" target=\"_blank\" >6800 block of South Pulaski Road</a> when an orange Honda SUV northbound on Pulaski slammed into him and left the scene. He was also taken to Christ and was pronounced dead. </p><p>On Monday, a 45-year-old woman was critically hurt in the Humboldt Park neighborhood when a maroon-colored vehicle hit her and fled the scene <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https://chicago.suntimes.com/crime/2026/05/12/woman-critically-injured-in-humboldt-park-hit-and-run\" target=\"_blank\" >in the 3100 block of West Franklin Boulevard, police said. </a></p><p>No arrests have been made. </p><p>The Chicago police's Major Accidents Investigation Unit was probing the crashes. <br></p>",
