Man fatally shot in Austin

A man was fatally shot early Friday in Austin on the West Side.

Around 1:30 a.m., a 35-year-old man was in the 5100 block of West Potomac Avenue when he was shot in the body, Chicago police said.

He was taken to Stroger Hospital where he died, police said.

Area 5 detectives were investigating.
