  "textContent": "<p>The <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https://chicago.suntimes.com/chicago-sky\" target=\"_blank\" >Sky</a> signed veteran point guard Natasha Cloud, the team announced Monday. The Athletic reported the deal is for one year and worth $550,000.</p><p>\"Natasha is one of the best passers and defenders in our league,\" general manager Jeff Pagliocca said in a statement. \"She fits in with the other proven winners on our roster.\"</p><p>Cloud averaged 10.1 points, 5.1 assists and 1.2 steals per game for the Liberty last season. In 10 seasons, she has earned three All-Defensive team selections and won a championship with the Mystics in 2019.</p><p>But weeks into training camp, she remained unsigned, one of the curiosities of the condensed free agency period. Cloud has not spoken publicly about why.</p><p>Liberty general manager Jonathan Kolb vouched for her at his preseason press conference, calling her a \"phenomenal teammate\" and an \"awesome human being.\"</p><p>Cloud wrote on Threads that same day: \"I have yet to speak. That's intentional & my power. I've just worked. No sulking, no whining. Work. & I will continue to work as I always have. Proving myself right year, after year, after year. (11) to be exact. I know who I am. I know my value/worth. & ain't nothing traditional.\"</p><p>Cloud will upgrade the Sky's defense and help shoulder point guard responsibilities while veteran Courtney Vandersloot continues to rehab an
