  "textContent": "<p>The hits keep on coming for the Cubs' pitching staff. In a surprising development, the team put closer Daniel Palencia on the 15-day injured list Friday with a left oblique strain. The move is retroactive to Tuesday, and the Cubs did not announce a corresponding move. </p><p>Palencia becomes the 10th Cubs pitcher on the injured list. He last pitched Sunday, when he threw the ninth inning and earned the win in a 7-6, comeback victory against the Pirates. He has one save and hasn't allowed a run in five innings this season.</p><p>Meanwhile, manager Craig Counsell said that starter Cade Horton could miss 16 months after having surgery on his ulnar collateral ligament. Horton left his start April 3 after one inning, and the Cubs put him on the injured list with a right forearm strain.
