"textContent": "<p>\"Summer-like\" conditions bringing temperatures nearing 80 and a threat for severe storms Friday will give way to much cooler temperatures as the weekend progresses. </p><p>Highs were expected to reach 81 degrees Friday with a threat for large hail and damaging winds between 40 and 50 mph approaching by the evening, according to the National Weather Service. </p><p>\"This could be our last summer-like day here for a little while,\" said Kevin Donofrio, a meteorologist with the weather service.</p><p>By Saturday, the high is expected be 30 degrees cooler than Friday, and by Saturday night temperatures could hover just above the freezing point, according to the weather service. A slight chance for rain was possible and wind gusts were expected to reach 30 mph. </p><p>Donofrio noted that a cold front moving through the central part of the United States is responsible for the approaching storm system and swing in temperature. </p><p>\"Temperatures in the northern plains are in the 20s and 30s and that's pushing in our direction,\" Donofrio said. </p><p>Conditions are expected to be calm Sunday and Monday and highs in the 70s were expected to return by Tuesday. <br></p>",
