  "textContent": "<p>Former <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https://chicago.suntimes.com/bears\" target=\"_blank\" >Bears</a> safety Jaquan Brisker is going home.</p><p>Brisker, who was born in Pittsburgh and attended Lackawanna College and Penn State, agreed to join the Steelers on a one-year deal Thursday.</p><p>Brisker, a former second-round pick of the <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https://chicago.suntimes.com/bears/2026/03/12/bears-garrett-bradbury-coby-bryant-seahawks-patriots-super-bowl-dreams-championship-pedigree-ryan-poles-free-agent-nfl\" target=\"_blank\" >Bears</a>, wasn’t expected to return to the team this offseason. He played his best season last year — and finished with perhaps the best game of his career in the playoff loss to the Rams — but the team didn’t seem likely to devote serious money to both safety spots. They agreed to sign Seahawks safety Coby Bryant to a three-year, $40 million deal Monday.</p><p>Brisker was a physical force, sometimes to his own detriment. He suffered a concussion on a textbook tackle against the Panthers in 2024 and missed the last 12 games of the season. Last year was the first time he played in all 17 games.</p><p>Brisker finishes his Bears career with seven sacks, four forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries over four years.</p>",
