Woman killed in South Chicago hit-and-run

Police are looking for the driver of a vehicle that hit a pedestrian and killed her Tuesday night Tuesday night in the South Chicago neighborhood.

Around 10 p.m., officers responded to a call of a woman lying in the street in the 2100 block of East 83rd Street and upon arrival learned the 32-year-old woman was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center with severe trauma, Chicago police said.

The unidentified woman was pronounced dead, police said.

The striking vehicle fled the scene, officials said.

Major Accident detectives are investigating the crash.
