"textContent": "<p>After one of the best seasons of his career, former <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https://chicago.suntimes.com/bears\" target=\"_blank\" >Bears</a> linebacker Tremaine Edmunds got a big contract offer from the Giants. He agreed Monday to a three-year, $36 million deal, NFL Network reported. It includes $24 million guaranteed.</p><p>The Bears released Edmunds, 27, last week for a dead salary-cap hit of $2.4 million rather than pay him $17.4 million this season. He was terrific for the Bears last season with 112 tackles, a career-high four interceptions and a fumble recovery.</p><p>The Bears <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https://chicago.suntimes.com/bears/2026/03/09/bears-to-sign-playmaking-veteran-devin-bush-jr-as-they-rebuild-linebacker-corps-source\" >agreed to a deal with former Browns linebacker Devin Bush Jr. on Monday</a> to replace him. Bush had 125 tackles, three interceptions, two forced fumbles and two sacks last season. He returned two of those interceptions for touchdowns.</p><p>Edmunds was a first-round pick by the Bills in 2018, then signed a four-year, $72 million deal to jump to the Bears in 2023.</p>",
