1 dead, 1hurt in 2-vehicle wreck on Dan Ryan in Chatham

One person died and another was injured after a two-vehicle crash late Sunday on the inbound Dan Ryan Expressway at 87th Street.

The crash happened around 11:30 p.m., leaving two passengers rushed to area hospitals where one of them was pronounced dead, state police said.

Lanes were temporarily closed for a crash investigation but have since reopened, officials said.

No further information was immediately given by police.
