  "textContent": "<p>A 19-year-old man was charged with attempted murder after a shooting last November in a Bronzeville Jewel Osco, Chicago police said.</p><p>Elijah Theodore of Washington Park was arrested in Phoenix on Friday and extradited back to Chicago and charged with first-degree attempted murder. Theodore is accused of shooting a 46-year-old male security officer Nov. 11 in the grocery store at 443 E. 34th St., according to police.</p><p><a class=\"Link\" href=\"https://chicago.suntimes.com/crime/2025/11/11/shooting-at-bronzeville-jewel-osco-wounds-at-least-two\" target=\"_blank\" >At the time, police said</a> two men entered the Jewel and tried to steal three bouquets of flowers and a greeting card on display. As they were leaving the store, the security guard intervened. One of the robbers fired a gun in his direction, hitting the man and two others nearby, police said.</p><p>Two of the wounded were taken to University of Chicago Medical Center, including the security guard, who was in serious condition suffering from gunshot wounds to his body.</p><p>A 29-year-old woman was shot in her left foot. A 67-year-old woman was grazed in her left foot and declined to be taken to a hospital, police said. Two others fell during the chaos. </p><p>Customers ran for cover in the store, including in the freezers and fled to neighboring businesses in the strip mall.</p>",
