"textContent": "
The rumor mill was right: Angel Reese is rejoining Unrivaled.

The Sky star has agreed to a new deal with the 3x3 league for the remainder of the 2026 season, Unrivaled announced Wednesday morning.

Reese teased the possibility on a recent podcast episode with her former Sky coach and current Unrivaled coach, Teresa Weatherspoon. Weatherspoon said she was fighting for Reese to return to Unrivaled, and Reese said she would like to, she just didn’t know when.

“Maybe you might see me, maybe you might don’t,” Reese said.

Now Reese is officially returning to her former team, Rose BC, on Feb. 20.

Rose sits in fifth out of eight teams, with the top six qualifying for the playoffs. Returners Chelsea Gray and Kahleah Copper lead the Rose in scoring, but they're still only 5-6.

Reese's return could be just what the Rose needs. It could be just what the league needs, too.

Though Unrivaled recently set the attendance record for women’s pro basketball with a tour stop in Philadelphia, TV ratings have been muted. A splashy midseason addition could help generate some buzz.

“You entertain people, that’s why they get their butts in the seats to come and watch you,” Weatherspoon told Reese on her podcast.

In Unrivaled’s inaugural season, Rose won the championship and Reese was named Defensive Player of the Year. She then opted out of Year 2 along with other stars including Jewell Loyd and Kayla McBride.

Unrivaled has also been hit by injuries. Big names including Sabrina Ionescu, Napheesa Collier and Satou Sabally have all had to sit out this season.

Reese has had a busy WNBA offseason with podcasting, fashion, business ventures and acting. She also attended a training camp for Team USA in December as the team evaluates players for the 2026 FIBA World Cup.

Still, Reese said she missed Unrivaled.

“I miss the development,” she said on her podcast. “I can try stuff, I can do whatever, and I can take it and implement it to the W.”

Unrivaled playoffs begin on February 28, with the championship taking place on March 4.
",
