  "textContent": "<p>Waukegan police shot and killed a man who attempted suicide Saturday afternoon. </p><p>Three officers responded to a call around 3 p.m. in the 1000 block of Leith Avenue for a person \"who had attempted to commit suicide,\" Waukegan Police said in a news release.</p><p>The shooting victim was a 58-year-old Waukegan man. First responders provided aid, but he died at the scene, according to police. The department did not provide details of what led to the shooting.</p><p>The Illinois State Police are investigating the incident.</p>",
