Colorado effort to end credit card swipe fees on sales taxes is splitting businesses

Companies paid $2.1 billion in swipe fees in 2024 for the right to accept credit cards. They’re fighting to get back $200 million charged on sales tax. Banks and other businesses say it’s not that simple.
