Peter steps close into Daniel’s face so that they’re nose-to-nose. It’s an attempt to scratch for some semblance of control, because he can feel his grasp on the situation slipping. “Why do I get the feeling this is not the first time we’ve had this conversation?” he questions, just this side of threatening.

“Dunno,” Daniel says, grinning, a twinkle in his eyes that indicates he knows more than he’s letting on. “Deja vu is funny like that, huh?”

What’s the big deal about reality, anyway? It’s not like there’s a way to tell the difference between what happens and what only seems to. Not anymore, at least.
