“Peter…” Tony says, blinking at her.

“He’s meeting us there, he’s with Rhodey,” Pepper says, nodding at him. “Okay? Okay? Tony, you’re gonna be fine, you’re gonna be alright—”

“Reactor’s failing,” Tony breathes, fading again. “I need the one he—he took, unless—it’s incinerated, might be, didn’t look—great—”

“I know, Tony, I know, Rhodey told me that too—they’re trying to get it, they’re—”

Her voice is so beautiful, and it fades with the incoming darkness, and he should tell her more, he should tell all of them more how much he loves them, and how incredible they all are, how much they light up his life—

Darkness, and Peter running around the New York apartment and laughing, that little sing-song giggle, and he runs until the apartment morphs into the Malibu house, and he’s running and he’s laughing and he looks over his shoulder—
