Peter’s obligatory field trip to SI, the building that he lives in, runs with Pepper, and will be his in the actually quite near future.

Why should he hide his position just to keep the people who have made his life miserable for the last few years comfortable?

He won’t tell them everything, but he’s not gonna try to hide anything either. (At least not anything to do with his status at SI, Spider-Man should probably be kept a secret for now).
