But given recent events, there had come to light evidence of a some larger, more mysterious workings that he, as a man of science, can no longer ignore.\n\n—-\n\nA First Reformed AU in which Tony Stark’s capture in Afghanistan pushed him back towards faith instead of vengeance and he decides to resume seminary school, eventually becoming a priest at First Reformed Church. His life of dubious celibacy (and debilitating palladium poisoning) is suddenly interrupted by Loki Laufeyson, who seeks help for his husband, Thanos, a radical anarchist that seems to have lost the ability to hope. As they grow closer and find parts of themselves in each other, will they come out of this ordeal with resurrected faith or renewed despair?\n\nNote: It is NOT necessary to have watched First Reformed to understand this fic at all (but I would highly recommend the movie!) Large parts of the dialogue may be taken from the screenplay.
