Tony is presumed dead for nearly a week, until someone realizes he was actually in a magically-induced fugue state, due to the power of wielding the Infinity Stones. When he wakes up a year later, achy and disoriented, the genius makes the decision to stay dead for a little longer. Surely the world owed him that?

Cue Peter, who is still very much forgotten and now homeless…. By now, Peter has been scraping out a life by himself in New York City for four years, and has gotten into MIT against all odds, hoping desperately he’ll be able to reconnect with Ned and MJ. Yet there is one small problem he has yet to tackle- tuition. Even for a teenage genius, the price of such a prestigious college isn’t cheap. If Peter wants to make it out of New York and to the school of his dreams, he has eight months to scrape up the money. But how to do so?

AU where homeless Peter sneaks into Tony’s secluded cabin to use the lab, where he makes prototypes to sell to Hammer Industries for tuition money. Except one day he shows up and Tony is very much alive and angry at the teenage thief, but mostly confused as to why his heart aches so when he looks at the (strangely) familiar brown curls.
