Why ATProto?
When I decided to learn more and experiment with @atproto.com, the tech layer beneath @bsky.app, I also chose to write and host my blog on @pckt.blog. The website was lovely and it seemed incredibly simple to get into and set up. But I was a little bummed because there were features on other ATProto blogging services like @leaflet.pub and @offprint.app that I really wanted to utilize also! I love what they're doing over at Pckt, but I really like some features that the others were implementing as well.
The cool thing about ATProto though is that you don't have to pick just one! You're not locked into anything. If I really wanted to use Leaflet, I could still sign into Leaflet with the same account, write a document or start a publication, publish it, and it will show up in each other's feeds just the same! It's like pure magic. I didn't need to sign up for a whole new account somewhere else, I didn't need to import all my posts from somewhere else, the blog page on my website even updates just the same! Like, what do you mean it's just that easy??
If you're a web developer or software engineer or even a content creator, you're doing yourself a disservice if you aren't at least keeping an eye on the Atmosphere. I'm just sayin'...
Also, hello from Leaflet! ๐
