UX Behind Evryday Things - Episode 002
UX with Prithiv
July 3, 2026
Every successful product teaches designers something.
Instagram teaches one lesson exceptionally well:
Behavior is designed.
We often credit content for Instagram’s success.
Yet if you stripped away its UX patterns, the exact same content would feel very different.
The product succeeds because every interaction removes friction while increasing engagement.
Infinite scrolling eliminates stopping points.
Stories introduce urgency.
Notifications re-engage users.
Double taps reward interactions instantly.
Variable content keeps curiosity alive.
None of these patterns are inherently good or bad.
They’re tools.
The responsibility lies in how we use them.
As product designers, our goal shouldn’t simply be increasing screen time.
It should be creating experiences that genuinely help users accomplish meaningful goals.
That’s why studying products like Instagram is valuable.
Not because we should copy them.
Because we should understand the thinking behind them.
The interface is only the surface.
The real design happens underneath.
