"textContent": "Typography is one of the most underestimated skills in UI design.\n\nMany beginners spend hours selecting colors and creating beautiful layouts but overlook the one thing users spend the most time reading—text.\n\nGood typography isn’t about making words look attractive.\n\nIt’s about making information easier to understand.\n\nHere are six typography principles every designer should know.\n\n## **1. Font Pairing**\n\nUse contrasting fonts with purpose.\n\nDisplay fonts create personality.\n\nBody fonts prioritize readability.\n\nThe goal is balance, not variety.\n\n## **2. Alignment**\n\nAlignment creates structure.\n\nLeft alignment works best for most interfaces because it creates a predictable reading pattern.\n\nCenter alignment works for limited content.\n\nUse right or justified alignment only when there’s a clear reason.\n\n## **3. Line Height**\n\nDense paragraphs create cognitive fatigue.\n\nAdding enough vertical spacing allows the eye to move naturally from one line to the next.\n\nA good rule of thumb is **120–150% line height**.\n\n## **4. Line Length**\n\nLong paragraphs make readers lose their place.\n\nVery short lines interrupt reading rhythm.\n\nAim for approximately **40–60 characters per line** for optimal readability.\n\n## **5. Kerning**\n\nKerning adjusts the spacing between individual letter pairs.\n\nWhile subtle, good kerning makes text feel balanced and polished.\n\nPoor kerning creates distracting visual gaps.\n\n## **6. Hierarchy**\n\nTypography should answer one simple question:\n\n“What should users read first?”\n\nUse size, weight, spacing, and contrast to establish a clear visual hierarchy.\n\nTypography isn’t just a visual design skill.\n\nIt’s a communication tool.\n\nWhen users don’t notice your typography, you’ve probably done it right.\n\nAt UX Crumbs, we believe mastering fundamentals like typography is what transforms good designers into exceptional product thinkers.\n\n🚀 Join the UX Crumbs Waitlist:\nhttps://uxcrumbs.com",
