"textContent": "WW 213 TORNADO IA MN NE SD 171840Z - 180300Z\n\n\n\n\n URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED\n Tornado Watch Number 213\n NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK\n 140 PM CDT Sun May 17 2026\n\n The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a\n\n * Tornado Watch for portions of\n Northwest Iowa\n Far Southwest Minnesota\n Northeast Nebraska\n Southeast South Dakota\n\n * Effective this Sunday afternoon and evening from 140 PM until\n 1000 PM CDT.\n\n * Primary threats include...\n A few tornadoes likely with a couple intense tornadoes possible\n Scattered damaging winds likely with isolated significant gusts\n to 85 mph possible\n Scattered large hail likely with isolated very large hail events\n to 3 inches in diameter possible\n\n SUMMARY...Thunderstorm coverage and intensity is expected to\n increase this afternoon along and ahead of a cold front moving into\n the Mid Missouri Valley. Strong buoyancy and shear will favor\n supercells with any discrete development. These intense supercells\n would be capable of all hazards, including very large hail (up to\n 3\"+ in diameter) and strong tornadoes. More linear development is\n expected along the front, with strong gusts and line-embedded\n possible, particularly across eastern portions of the watch (i.e.\n far northeast Nebraska, far southeast South Dakota, northwest Iowa\n and southwest Minnesota).\n\n The tornado watch area is approximately along and 70 statute miles\n north and south of a line from 40 miles west northwest of Oneill NE\n to 35 miles north of Storm Lake IA. For a complete depiction of the\n watch see the associated watch outline update (WOUS64 KWNS WOU3).\n\n PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...\n\n REMEMBER...A Tornado Watch means conditions are favorable for\n tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch\n area. Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for\n threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements\n and possible warnings.\n\n &&\n\n AVIATION...Tornadoes and a few severe thunderstorms with hail\n surface and aloft to 3 inches. Extreme turbulence and surface wind\n gusts to 75 knots. A few cumulonimbi with maximum tops to 500. Mean\n storm motion vector 24035.\n\n ...Mosier\n\n\n\nRead more",
