FOR SOUTHERN MISSISSIPPI\n\n\n\n\n    Mesoscale Discussion 0658\n    NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK\n    0716 PM CDT Wed May 06 2026\n\n    Areas affected...southern Mississippi\n\n    Concerning...Tornado Watch 186...\n\n    Valid 070016Z - 070115Z\n\n    The severe weather threat for Tornado Watch 186 continues.\n\n    SUMMARY...Supercell with a strong tornado to persist eastward across\n    southern Mississippi south of US84 and will be approaching the I-55\n    corridor soon.\n\n    DISCUSSION...A supercell has strengthened rapidly and is currently\n    producing a strong tornado (estimated wind 135-180 mph) near\n    Meadville, MS. This storm is moving within a volatile environment of\n    moderate to strong MLCAPE increasing low-level SRH (around 200-250\n    m2/s2 from DGX to HDC). Effective STP is analyzed to the south\n    around 2-3.
