Richard Osman’s House of Games

It’s always a pleasant surprise to get a token Salford or rugby league reference in the mainstream, and Richard Osman’s House of Games delivered yesterday evening by asking the following question:
Which nickname for Manchester United was inspired by the name of a rugby club based in Salford?
Magic, both areas covered in one.
The last link back to Salford/RL I noticed on House of Games was Martin Offiah’s appearance as a contestant a couple of years back. This BBC2 tea-time staple isn’t the toughest quiz on telly, but the format can take a while to get your head around. Early in the week, you can certainly place contestants in one of two camps:
Martin appeared to be in the latter camp. Not quite Larry Hagman on Shooting Stars levels of disorientation, but it appeared to take him a while to get up to speed.
